Helmet Glad appeared on the site in a random selection of images today, and out of context I didn’t realize I was viewing a part of your sculptural gladiator helmet that I admired years ago when it was first posted.  While not identified as such, it looks as though the medium of the helmet is cast bronze.  But when viewing this detail image, I do think it stands on its own as a formally composed photograph. The subtle curvature of the patinaed ridge, and aperture into the thick-walled object are caught in the light, but scale is skewed so that it has an architectural presence. The small bits of white light nicely break up the heavy dark form. As your most recent works were shared many years ago, I am curious where your sculptural practice has taken you.
