Curator’s Comments:

Viewing Petaluma Pondscape (1) recently enabled me to revisit your lush and sometimes mysterious landscapes.  The dramatic tree reflections on the pale blue pond water exquisitely contrast the linear patterns of the anchoring tree and branches in the foreground of the piece. While the strong horizontal orientation creates a sense of expected calm, the charge in directionality of the trees lining the edge of the water keep the composition active. Both this landscape and others I have admired from you in the past captive a meditative quality in unoccupied space that is anything but empty.  I do hope you consider posting new work on the site.
