International Deadline: July 13, 2014 - The Source-Cord Prize is an award for contemporary photography, comprising an individual first prize of $10,000, second prize of $1,000 and third prize of $500. The work selected for first prize will also be published in Source Magazine with a commissioned essay. Additionally, twenty-two artists will be selected for online exhibition and everyone submitting will receive a free one-year digital subscription to Source Magazine. The winners will be selected by an international panel of four judges.
The award was established as the Cord Prize in 2013 by EA Lindsay, to support contemporary photography. In 2014 Lindsay formed a collaboration with Source magazine to create the Source-Cord Prize. Source is a photography magazine based and published in the UK since 1992. The judges in 2013 were Charlotte Cotton and Diana Edkins, the first Prize was won by Eva Stenram for her work Drape.

HOW TO ENTER
Visit the Source-Cord Prize Online. You will be taken to your upload page where you can submit and edit your entry. Artists can submit up to 16 images from a body of work, which does not have to be a single project. We also require a short introductory text. See below for more information on the submission process.
WHAT TO SUBMIT
The aim of the Source-Cord Prize is to discover new work. All photographic processes are welcome and submissions are invited from artists for whom photography is their whole or partial practice.
Applications should be accompanied by a short text of up to 400 words introducing the work you are submitting. This text must be in English (the common language for the judges) but please note, we wish to encourage submissions from photographers for whom English is not their first language. The text is to help the judges, it will not be judged for the quality of its written English.
