6th Annual Nature and Wildlife Exhibit

International Deadline: June 1, 2015 - The St. Augustine Art Association proudly presents the 6th Annual Nature & Wildlife Exhibition. This juried art competition, featuring works in a wide spectrum of styles and materials, explores nature in its many beautiful forms, from plant life and landscapes to the diversity of species that inhabit the great outdoors.

Located in the hub of St. Augustine’s vibrant arts district, the St. Augustine Art Association Art Center features 3500 square feet of premier exhibition space. This year, visitors from all corners of the globe will descend upon the seaside town, known for its historic charm, to celebrate the 450th Anniversary of its founding. We invite you to be a part of history by participating in this prestigious exhibition,which attracts the nation’s foremost artists competing for $5,000 in cash prizes.

ARTWORK ELIGIBILITY
Artists may enter up to 3 original 2d or 3d pieces created within the past 3 years. Entries must be the original work of art, not a giclee or enhanced giclee of the original artwork, nor a limited edition print (with the exception of photography and original printmaking), nor reproductions or enhanced reproductions of any kind. Works that reference hunting or taxidermy will not be eligible. Human elements shall not be present, except on the rare occasion where such imagery enhances the nature story.

ARTWORK SPECIFICATIONS

• 2D, 60’ X 60’ max including frame.
• 3D, 5’ X 3’ X 3’ max, freestanding or must fit on a pedestal, weighing no more than 50lbs unless pre-approved and installed by the artist
• artwork must be dry & fully assembled upon delivery.
• accepted 2d work should be suitably framed and ready for hanging with picture wire
• no sawtooth hangers.
• no non-glare glass.
• gallery wrapped pieces should be at least 2” deep with all edges finished.
• photography must be matted and framed, with glass or plexi (if shipped), ready for hanging with picture wire only. Any form of manipulation that alters the truth of the photographic statement is ineligible.

JUDGING
A jury panel will use the digital images to select entries using a point system. Awards will be judged in person once the exhibition is installed.

SALES & REPRODUCTION
All artwork must be for sale. Sales will be handled by the staaa, which will retain 40% of the selling price.

TERMS OF ENTRY FOR ENTRANTS
Artists over 18 years of age are eligible. All reasonable care will be given to artwork in the custody of the St. Augustine Arts Association; however, the organization cannot assume responsibility for theft, damage or deterioration of artwork at any time. Artists should carry their own insurance.
