Thank you for sharing this new work to the site. Edge of the Forbidden Woods is simultaneously whimsical and foreboding. The larger scaled scarecrow figure seems to thrust all of the other elements in the painting forward, including the inanimate barn with its bowing sideboards. The smaller humanoid and human-animal hybrid figures in front of him appear to me to be in varying stages of distress, presumably from the sound emanating from the large creature. The planted field is the foreground initially looks like a pumpkin patch, but on closer viewing the vines collectively become an animated menace, also advancing towards the small figures. I appreciate knowing the media and scale of the piece. The tinted color palette and thin-wash of the water media contributes to the fantasy mood. As with most fairy tales, the worlds you have created in your practice are a dreamy combination of beauty, eccentricity, and unknown hazards.
