Geraniums Up Close may in fact be a more beautiful design than the original floral arrangement. The stylization of organic forms and the color palette vacillating between delicate soft pink-orange and the grainier and more rustic moss green offers a sensibility reminiscent of the Arts & Crafts movement. The undulating folds of the petals nicely complements the darker and heavier visual weight in the bottom half of the composition. I also like that the small pale leaves branching off the stems keeps the background space from forming too stark of a ground, and again softens the vertical lines in the overall piece. The elongated rectangular format presents fluid visual movement, while cropping the display on all sides.
