I appreciate your insightful comments. You observe things in my pieces that I had thought no one but myself would ever notice. I find your words gratifying and validating.
I don't feel inclined to try AI art. I love the control of freehand tablet drawing, combined with subtle filters and effects.
Curator’s Comments:
It’s always a pleasure to come across your new work on the site- thank you for sharing it with us. October is a particularly stunning piece. The large yellow-green floral form is beautifully contrasted against the turquoise-blue ground. As with most of your digital paintings, I’m drawn in to the fluctuating soft and hard edges, which in combination emits a shimmery iridescence. I interpret the small pieces moving off of the flower configuration as seeds, if I allow myself to extend the floral metaphor. Perhaps this is simply because of the organic quality of the primary form, which could alternately be seen as a central hive. In this way the abstraction is at once familiar, and unknown. The perceived shift in color of the floating dots onto the larger form suggests a transformation, or germination of both biological and artificial entities, because of the saturated colors. I have followed your artistic practice for several years now, and the richness of these images only increases with my awareness of growing artificial intelligence. While some artists are grappling with new capacities of digital expression, your practice seems to have long ago arrived an intersection of art and science that yields only to the sublime.
