I find this to be a very intimate drawing.  The small scale enhances the sensation of viewing a personal journal or diary of one’s dreams.   The skill in rendering representational subjects in evident in all of your work, but this drawing captures a more dream like subject without fully delving into a fantastical genre.  It teeters on the edge of surrealism and symbolism, creating what feels like a document of a purely imaginative vision.  The softened contrast and hatched marks add an underpinning to your comments about waking from the dream state.   There’s a visual reverberation from these lines as well as the reflected light in the foreground, and the repeated figural motifs.
