Comment
Truley honored to have your comments on my work. It is always my goal to have my love of the land, come thru in my paintings. As you know I am new to this site, the work is beautiful, so pleased to be included in this group of talented and inspiring Artists. I need to put more of my work on and work on the profile part. Thank you again
Curator’s Comment:
The softness of these landscapes combined with bursts of unexpected, elevated color is quite striking. The crimson tree in the middle ground of this drawing captures breezy movement across a meadow, but the true subject appears to be stunning autumnal color. The small, sketchy ruptures of pale blue breaking through the trees are believable, but take a step towards textural abstraction. But the white areas in the sky also heighten the illusionistic power of the piece for me, as a pure uninterrupted blue often leans towards idealized convention rather than the idiosyncrasies of the familiar. The broken color in the ground also provides a strong play between warm and cool hues, adding depth and visual interest. The deep blue-violet in Winter’s Light delights as well, with saturated cool colors and a similar framing of trees against a chalky sky. There’s a timeless quality to these works that transcends place. I understand them to reflect the distinctly cyclic Northeastern terrain, but I imagine this comes from my own sense of place.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
