Curator’s Comments:

Glam Slam popped up as a random photographic image, and I was immediately attracted to the contradiction in the model’s demeanor and pose. Reclining back with her head and arms tilted away from the viewer, there is an expressed coyness in her aversion to our gaze.  And yet her minimal (black) adornments assert a confidence in style and body image.  I’m curious about the cubically constructed photographs between her toes.  She appears to be toying with their construction or the idea of duplicity, while her feet are conspicuously perched on top of old texts.  While these object relationships are necessarily ambiguous, the image has a bold and graphic appeal.
