Chapter 7
Cook pot Chaos

It was late evening as Dusty and Rhysh headed through the woods following the trail of an unfamiliar smell. Suddenly Rhysh immediately went into a crouch, slowly slinking lower he nodded for Dusty to do the same. They crept on not speaking a word both doing there best to make as little noise as possible. Rhysh was quite good at avoiding the twigs and crunchy brush that might have given them away, but Dusty was just the opposite. He had to carefully watch every step he made but still seemed to sound like an elephant rushing headlong through the trees. This only grew harder as dusk began to fade into night. Dusty was just about to ask Rhysh where they were going but paused when he began to hear voices, low in the distant but there non the less.
Ahead they could see a glow through the trees in the distance. It was growing brighter as they came closer, and the voices were now distinguishable. It sounded like English but with a sharp guttural tone to it. They crept a little closer and hid behind a large boulder that was a short distance from a fire. Rhysh glanced at Dusty and raised a finger to his lips, signaling to be quite. Then Rhysh peered around the rock, Dusty's eyes following right behind him. Ahead of them they saw a very large cook-pot sitting on a fire with three small creatures sitting around it. They were only a hand shorter than Dusty himself. Dusty and Rhysh could hear them, clearer now, though still not clear enough to understand with those harsh ascents.
“I told you this meat wouldn’t last the night” said a bulky green Goblin. “Well how was I suppose to know those travelers would be so scrawny. They looked much plumper in those bluky clothes, besides most of us got eats enough!” the brown Goblin grunted, chewing the last bit of meat from a bone. “That is easy for you to say you ate most it!” said the green Goblin. The large brown turned and spat in his direction then started rummaging through the cloth sack next to him. “Anything worth the time in there, or is this meager meal all we get for our trouble?” the green Goblin growled “Just some human cloths and other junk...nothing worth gold.” the brown said calmly staring at the green with a mischievous grin. The green Goblin suddenly grabbed his blade, a truly nasty looking thing, and lept toward the brown. Dusty crept around the rock to get a better look when a large CRACK sounded out as his foot landed on a brittle stick. In one smooth motion Rhysh and the Goblins all turned there heads at once staring right at Dusty. He crouched sinking low behind the rock trying to hide as the heads of Goblins started emerging out amongst the trees. There mush have been hundreds of them, popping out tens at a time. Dusty darted a glance up and with a harsh tone Ryhsh bellowed “run!”
