Curator’s Comment:

What a magnificent installation.  I find the restrained surfaces of your individual mixed media pieces (are they etched with chine colle?) to be beautiful, but disquieting. The umber tones look scrubbed into the surface; aged and worn.  Small stories surface within individual works, as single frame narratives emerge in the grid.  An Iconography of Class exquisitely pulls together their didactic renderings within a hierarchal structure. The piece of furniture like sculptural structure appears as chinoiserie pattern from a distance- the delicate swirls of adornment belie the burning destruction and industrial isolation.  I particularly like how the heavy structure rests on thin Chippendales-esque legs.  The weight of its story seems to rest on unsure spindles that do belong to another class of imagery.
