Imagination nurtures the universe.
Anthropomorphic visions of the spirit behind and within nature make it easier for the human mind to process unknowable mysteries.

Wonderful work.  Complex but beautifully balanced.

Curator’s Comments:

Thank you for bringing this new piece to my attention; Nur meine Vorstellung (Just my Imagination) is an exuberant and joyful painting.  I’m curious that it looks as though you’ve culled your portfolio down to just two pieces on the site.  I’m wondering if you’re going through a filtering process in your studio practice at present, and what you’re hoping to achieve.  When commenting on /critiquing new work it always helps me to be reminded of where you’ve come from aesthetically and conceptually.  But without this trajectory, I can only discuss what I see going on in this individual painting.   (So please also forgive me if some of my remarks are redundant, as we’ve had some exchange about earlier works.)  For me the short narrative text accompanying this image resonates with the lyrical marks and dreamy cool colors throughout.  The scrolling lines purposely suggest musical, melodic reference.  I also like the repetition of the fully circular shapes within the motif, as they intimate unblinking eyes.  The areas of increased density of value contrast and converging shapes, such as in the bottom left section of the painting also create visual interest within the stability of regular intervals of positive and negative space.  Organizationally, I’m attracted to the two arching lines in the top of this work, framing the composition.  Uniquely positioned, and with the circular spheres below the arched lines suggesting eyebrows, they offer a slightly figurative feel to the overall movement and gestural expression.  These elements enhance the otherwise noted anthropomorphic associations.   The mystery of spirit and ephemeral ideas play out in your personally constructed visual language.
