Excellent values and composition. Even for me,non abstract artist:) it is obvious how complicated (in the best way possible) this artwork is.  Real masterpiece! Congrats Rick

Passages reads as a classically understated Modernist work.  The small reoccurring ringlets of line, dots, and animated spiral elements remind me of Miro’s surreal pictorial language.  But the achromatic palette removes any overt jovial or impassioned mood that may have resulted from expressive color.  The more understated value pattern also places stronger emphasis on the relationship between the curvilinear forms.  I like the clustering of shapes that tends to define some elements as more important, though never fully succumbing to a traditional figure-ground relationship.  The abstraction of space is quite successful in creating a hypnotic maze of line and modeled value.  I hope to see more of your work on the site.
