Portfolios: Water Works

Unspoiled looks at a changing landscape in fresh new light- a slivered vertical slice of sky and land. The sparseness of the repeated trees breaks against a beautifully developed reflective image in the bottom of the piece. The combination of warm red-violets and cooler blue hues suggests a fleeting twilight or dusk. These pastel works are quite refined. Compositionally, I also appreciate the small piece of iced over land severely cropped on the bottom left of the picture plane, as it creates pictorial entry and guides the viewer into the space.
