Curator’s Comment:
I’m just now appreciating the title designation of Color VII- Digital, which appears to be a fully analog oil painting with paper collage. The title may just reference the painting as captured in digital form for means of reproduction, but the small squares in the bottom right of the piece distinctly call to mind computer pixilation. The erratic colors of the squares also suggest Pantone swatches or standardized mechanical measures for translating full color natural objects and images. Formally, the patterned geometry also works nicely against the gestural picture within the outer frame. Presenting as a colorful landscape in expressive warm tones, the sweeping trajectory of the orange and violet brushstrokes stand out against the pale blue “sky”. The picture, like many you have posted on the site, nicely balances order and chaos; method versus accident.
From NY to the U.K., the most comprehensive and respected source for income & exhibition opportunities.
