When my father died one year ago-I began a series of small works of which this is one.
As to the actual execution: I tend to go back and forth between Art Brut modes which I utilized in the eighties ( still in my heart! ); then to mix-in with my standard pen and ink.
I have the truest love of color / design elements and often add collaged efforts.
I LOVE my little studio. Just to work and to meditate while in the groove is such a blessing for me..

I am fascinated by how we define and occupy physical spaces and especially by our attempts to connect internally with those external environments. I find it is ultimately a disconnect that defines this relationship. A disconnect between our minds and physical selves; ourselves and others; our memories--both real and imagined; and our animal and human nature. We have a strong desire--even need-- for connection, but this potential connection is hindered, not only by an inability to…

Hi Jason and anyone interested. Oilbar is also known as 'oil on a stick'. The 'Oilbar’ is a Daler Rowney product and the 'Oil on a Stick' a Winsor and Newton product. Both are as good except that the W & N are slightly larger, although the D/R do a larger version as well. They are basically a bit like oil pastels but are more versatile and dry like oil paints. They are great for blending and you can do that either with your fingers (a bit messy) or with stumpy brushes or even a cloth. I…

PAINTING IS FOR ME, IS AN EXILERATING EXPERIENCE. I GET INSPIRED, I GET IN TOUCH WITH MY INNER CHILD, THAT SPIRITUAL ESSENCE THAT FORMATS IDEAS, COMPOSITIONS AND THEMES.
WHEN I PAINT, SINCE ALL THIS GROUNDWORK HAS BEEN DONE, THERE IS NOTHING FOR ME TO DO BUT LET IT FLOW ONTO THE CANVAS WITHOUT INTERFERRING WITH THE CREATIVE PROCESS. I SIMPLY HOLD A TOOL TO PAINT WITH, AND WATCH THINGS APPEAR.
